The week after we returned home from Thanksgiving family gatherings, we headed out to the botanical gardens (we became members in prep for completing #11 on my list, remember?) for their annual Garden Festival of Lights.
We got in for free with our membership on a few early nights, while we would have had to pay half price later on in the Christmas season. The night was brisk, so we certainly had no problem feeling like we should be looking at Christmas lights.
There were lights spread throughout the gardens themselves and the conservatory. We enjoyed walking through and finding new things to see everywhere we turned.
The lake reflected the lights beautifully. We over paid for some hot chocolate and relaxed with the view.
We finished by going through the conservatory and the library to see the train sets and trees trimmed by area students.
We had a great time, and it served as a good kick-off to our Christmas time.
